"TESTING ELECTROTECHNICAL PRODUCTS" JSC (TEP JSC) is independent private company, successor and inheritor of the traditions of "ELPROM ILEP" Ltd, ILEP of "Elprom - IEP" JSC, Laboratory complex of "Elprom - IEP" Ltd and Testing laboratories for electro-technical products of IEP "Nikola Belopitov" and NIPKIEP Sofia. The company has more than 40 years experience and practice in testing of electro-technical products, conformity assessment and product certification - in the section "Testing".

Since its establishment in the beginning of the 70s until 12.06.2002 the Laboratory's address was 43 Cherni Vrah boul. Currently, the Laboratory complex of TEP JSC develops its activity in the premises provided by the Higher School of Transport "Todor Kableshkov" at 158 Geo Milev Str. The testing laboratory disposes of 938 m2 laboratorial area in two adjacent buildings. The testing installations and the measuring equipment are combined in eleven thematic testing laboratories nine of which are functioning in their full capacity:

The Laboratory premises satisfy the European requirements for testing laboratories.

Recently the Laboratory is faced with restoring the activity of the "Asynchronous machines" laboratory.

In compliance with the interest in cooperation, shown on the behalf of VDE Testing and Certification Institute, the Laboratory TEP is preparing for its inclusion in the VDE system for mutual approval of the testing results and for giving a statute of "a contact group" - a branch of VDE for Bulgaria and the region. The initial contracts in this direction were signed.

Restoring the activity of the Laboratory "TEP" JSC is meant to provide the electrical engineering in Bulgaria with an opportunity for testing and certification of its products by a third independent party in the field of the "New Approach" Directives.

in compliance with the standards of the given regulations according to art. 7 of the Law on the technical requirements to the products (LTRP), which introduced the "New Approach" Directives of the European Community (EC) into the Bulgarian legislation, relevantly:

1. Regulation of the essential requirements and conformity assessment of electric equipment, intended to be used in certain voltage limits (transposing directive 73/23/EC);
2. Regulation of the essential requirements and conformity assessment of the machines (transposing directive 98/37/EC);
3. Regulation of the essential requirements and conformity assessment of the toys (transposing directive 88/378/EC);
   
4. Regulation of the essential requirements and conformity assessment of household electric refrigerators, freezers, devices for storage of frozen foodstuffs and combination of them (transposing directive 96/57/EC);
5. Testing of electric medical apparatus (transposing directive 93/42/ЕЕС );

TEP JSC conducts tests according to the indicated above indices and products ordered by the client and in compliance with the requirements of international, European, local, and national standardized documents (ISO, IEC, EN, GOST, GOST P, DIN, DIN VDE, ASTM, NF, BDS, etc.).

During its working process TEP JSC collaborates and operates under control and together with similar institutes and international organizations such as TUV Rheinland, SGS, Lloyd's Register and VDE.
